Friday Flashback 1.30.09

Today as I reached into my stack of old pictures, for today's Friday Flashback, two pictures came out. So instead of deciding to choose which one to use, I'm putting both of them up here...

This is one of many photos that have been taken on these steps. In this one, Kevin is the only sibling missing, so that means he's probably on his mission. That puts this picture somewhere between 96 and 98? I think it's closer to 96.

This second picture is a bit older than the first. I know it's post mission because I got that shirt on my mission? Or soon after (maybe the Hawaii trip with Kevin and Dad)? Another big clue that this is after getting home from my mission are the shoes I'm wearing. I wasn't introduced to Adidas Sambas till I was on my mission. There are other clues too... the jean shorts, and casual dress. Pre-mission and High School, I would have been wearing Doc Marten (Dr. Marten's Air Wear) or monkey boots, more black clothing, and pants. The mission really relaxed my style in that way.

I remember really liking that shirt. Grunge music was very popular by the time I was off my mission. That shirt has a picture of Pigpen, and under him is says "Original Grunge". I'm pretty sure this picture was taken in 94.

There you go. A "two-fer" for your Friday flashback fix for the week.

#2 Is Outta There

On Wednesday, Liam cam home from school with his second tooth wrapped in a napkin and in a ziplock bag.

He said it came out during lunch.

We were pretty surprised at that. Anna looked at it the night before and thought it was still a ways a way from being able to be yoinked out. Liam was looking forward to having mom use a lasso to pluck out his tooth. He said his tongue is a lasso.

Here's his new toothless grin. You can see the tooth that was growing in behind the second one.

He's showing us where he's putting his tooth. As soon as he got done telling us about it, we put it in a new ziplock, and he rushed it over to his bed and under his pillow.

Bright and early the next morning... sure enough, the tooth fairy came and left a dollar.

Anna had braces growing up; I did not. We're hoping their teeth are more like mine.

Happy Birthday Dad

Today is dad's birthday. I thought I would put up some random pictures I pulled out with him in them. Kind of like a mini retrospective. Let's begin...

This was taken at an EMHS homecoming game (probably). Only Kyle (in Brazil) and Kristi aren't in the picture, of the siblings. Dad was apparently not in the mood to say "cheese". Maybe he didn't want to have his picture taken with that outfit on?

Here's dad last Sunday, as he takes a few swings at his birthday pinata provided by Kim. He and mom are going to Disneyland for his birthday today.

Here's a picture of a picture of dad as a toddler. We just took this picture of that picture for Duncan for a school report he did on dad. The dad in that picture is my grandfather Hubert Eddie Foutz, and next to him is my great grandfather Joseph Lehi Foutz. I'm pretty sure that was taken in Pima, Arizona.

Here's a not as old as the last picture, old picture. I think it's late 1974. Dad rockin' the bow tie and mega plaid pants.

Not sure what year this is (late 80s?), but there's the back of dad at a Whizzer bike rally in Long Beach. I'm pretty sure my dad still has those same suspenders. He wears suspenders just about 24/7. He doesn't have one pair he changes to each pair of pants, he has a pair for each pair of pants (just about) that stay on those pants, even in the wash. And if you see him without suspenders on... he still does, they're on under his shirt. (Pokin' a little fun there, roast style)

Anyway, hope you had fun at your party Sunday, and that you have fun at Disneyland today.
Happy Birthday.

Presented With An Award

I was presented with an award on Saturday night.

The local BSA District we're in (Grayback), was holding it's annual awards dinner on Saturday. I wasn't planning to go. I looked at it as just another district scout activity that I didn't need to go to.

On Thursday (?), I got a call from the member of the bishopric that's over scouting saying I needed to go to the dinner to represent our unit. I said I wasn't that interested in going, I'm sure someone else could go. He said he would let "them" know. He called me back a short time later saying I needed to go so I could give a short report on scout camp. I'm thinking "scout camp? I didn't even go to our councils camp. Why would they want to know about another camp?" He said they really thought I should go. "Who's the 'they'?" The young Men's president and a member of our ward that's in the Stake young men's presidency. I said I would have to find babysitting, he said "they" would find someone in the ward to do it if we needed it.

At this point, I'm thinking some thing's fishy.

The member of the stake young men's presidency in our ward called for Anna (that never happens), and needed her email address. Anna said it was to create an email list of scoutmasters and scoutmaster's wife's for the stake or district or something, and that the Stake president wanted all the scoutmasters and their wives to go to the dinner to support the district, and be familiar with the awards being presented... blah, blah, blah.

In the mean time, I'm trying to make sense of it all.

I bought into the Stake President wanting the scouting leadership in the stake to go, for the reason's Anna gave. The stake over the past few years has really made an effort to boost our participation in the district and council. She said her mom could come and babysit, so we could go. Ok, fine, we'll go.

Saturday evening comes, and Anna's mom shows up, but Anna's dad came too... and in his scout uniform? "He wants to come and check out how your district does their awards." I'm told. Except I know he doesn't care what other districts do. Hmm... I almost hid the camera to see if Anna would ask where it was, but instead, I chose to put it where I could see her get it if she went for it. And guess what... she grabbed the camera before we headed out. Hmmm... Looks like there's another reason I need to be at this awards dinner.

We get to where the dinner is being held, we pay for our dinner, and sit. Anna excuses herself to go to the restroom. She's gone for quite a while. Hmm... When she does reappear, my parents are with her... now it's pretty much out of the bag. I'm there to receive something, but what? I'm figuring it's some unit (troop) level award of appreciation or something like that. But those came and went... Now I'm back to being a little confused, there's only "big" awards left.

Turns out, I was nominated and chosen as the Grayback District Varsity Scout Leader of the Year Award. Wow, really?! I was surprised. I was actually quite honored too. It was pretty cool.

I was glad that I went, and that my parents could be there as well as Anna's dad. It made up for the over-priced, not that good, dinner we had.

Anna was relieved to be done with having to lie and trick me into going.

Why are there two pictures of me with the award? Well, the first one had the green frog in the background looking like it's on my uniform, so we took the second one. But I think I like the first one better after all, because you can see my Tribe of Tahquitz patch. So I put them both here, so you can decide which one you like better, and look at that one.

Monday Music 1.26.09

Anna hates that I like this song. But I just do. I wasn't a big fan of playing the game, I wan't very good at it. But I liked the movie a lot. That's where this song comes from. (Or at least that's where I know it from)

From the Mortal Kombat OriginalMotion Picture Soundtrack, The Immortals "Techno-Syndrome"

That song puts me in a good mood every time!

Photographic Evidence

Here's the photographic evidence of Anna's high score on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride/game. Mystery Space Ranger 2 was Jennan.

If I recall, Anna was about 50,000 points away or so, from breaking into the top 10 for the day's high scores.
In the words of Napoleon Dynamite: "Lucky!"

More Time At Disneyland

We went to Disneyland yesterday. We were able to spend a little more time at Disneyland and California Adventure because it's been finals week for Anna, so she's had minimum days this week, and the boys have a minimum day each Thursday, so it was a good day to go. It looked like it was threatening to rain almost the whole time we were there, but it didn't.

We were also able to spend our time there with Josh, Sara, and their family, as well as Anna's mom. Fun stuff.

We ended up getting in line for the tram at the far end of the on-loading and off-loading area. Duncan saw those cement benches and wanted to have his picture taken on one. Liam and Jennan followed him. Here's the picture they posed for...

I like it a lot. Good composition. Anna took the picture.

Tegan and Duncan on the carousel in Ca. Adv.

Duncan and Jackson hamming it up. They had a great time going on the rides together.

It was nice to have a few extra hours at the Disneyland parks. We don't usually make it there in time to go to California Adventure, so it was good to be able to be there.
Side note: Anna was the big scorer of the day. She had the highest score on the Toy Story Midway Madness ride/game (of our group), and the higher score between her and I on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. If fact, she had a personal best; She was about 10,000 points away from breaking 1 million! (I won't mention the fact that the ride had stopped with her right in front of a high scoring target.) Some people have all the luck.

Liam's Teeth

As you know, Liam recently lost a tooth, and has another one that's loose. What we didn't realize, is that his new teeth were already coming in.

The front bottom tooth that is still in, but loose, has the adult tooth growing out behind it. For the tooth that came out, it looks like the adult tooth is coming in in the usuall spot. Luckily, we've already been through this with Duncan, so we know it's not a big deal. Once the baby tooth gets pushed out, the adult tooth will naturally go into the correct possition (at least that's what it did for Duncan).

Hopefully it won't take too long for the other bottom tooth to come out. We'll see.

Friday Flashback 1.23.09

Here's this weeks randomly selected flashback photo... of yours truly.
Yep that's me. I'm guessing I'm somewhere between 5 and 7 years old. I have no idea where this picture was taken, but it looks like I'm standing on some sort of track. I would guess I'm somewhere in Arizona, but really, that's just a guess. Mom will have to put the details in the comments section.
I do have to say though, I think I see both Duncan and Liam in that picture of me.
That's a 30 year old picture. crazy.

Funny

These were in Sunday's comic section of the newspaper. I thought they were pretty funny.

And yes, I just went through Sunday's paper today.

Minus One Tooth

Liam went to school this morning minus one tooth.

Yesterday, the boys were playing Wii, and I guess one of Liam's bottom teeth must have been bothering him because we was messing with it. While he was doing what ever it was he was doing with it, it "made some noises" (Liam's words), and it was all of a sudden, wiggly! Very wiggly in fact. It would almost lay down flat when pushed forward by his tongue.

He was pretty surprised and happy about it. Right away, Duncan told him the tooth fairy would come when the tooth was out. Plus I think Liam enjoyed the attention and felt a bit "grown up" to be losing a tooth. I think he remembers Duncan's teeth being loose and coming out.

Anna thought that she could probably pluck it out McAlister style, but we decided to at least wait till bed time. It wasn't even lunch time yet. Plus we figured, after a day of Liam not leaving that tooth alone, it would be that much more loose by the end of the day.

Sure enough, a few hours after lunch, Duncan runs to find Anna yelling that Liam's tooth came out! At first Duncan was saying he pulled it out, but I think he meant he saw it come out. I guess what happened was Liam kept pushing the tooth forward with his tongue as they were playing Wii, and finally pushed it enough that it went flying out. So all in one day, he got a loose tooth, and it came out. The one front bottom tooth left is loose now too. But that one looks like it will take a while. Maybe that tooth will get the McAlister treatment.

Here are some pictures...

The tooth fairy left him a dollar!

*side note: Duncan has 3 loose teeth. Both front teeth, and a lower tooth.

Monday Music 1.19.09

I almost forgot to do my music post today.

Since I've been loading music from my friends lately, I'll use that as today's inspiration.

Sheryl Crow "Soak up the Sun"

Phil Collins "Sussudio"

They obviously don't share the same heavy music tastes I have, but still, these are good songs, and I'm sure I'll enjoy listening to them on my iPod sometime.

It Continues

I'm still in the process of putting my CDs on my iPod. The last time I mentioned loading music onto my iPod, I had just used up the available space on my computer, and still had tons of music to upload.

A few days after that, I headed out to Best Buy to purchase an external hard drive. The one that I had my eye on was sold out, but there were other brands with the same capacity at the same price, so I looked around a bit in the aisle. I happened across one that was on clearance. It had 320 GBs of storage and was about $20.00 cheaper than the 250GB ones I was looking at. So that's the one I got.

After setting it up, it took a little while to figure out how to move all my files over to it, but eventually I did it. I was good to go.

Ever since then, I've been continuously uploading my CDs to my iTunes library, and have a lot more to go still. Some good friends of ours in our ward have mp3 players and are big music lovers, and we've been swapping CDs with them as well, so my personal library also continues to grow.

Currently my iPod has 2774 songs, from 349 albums, using 9.8 GBs. It would take over 7 days to listen to it all. And I still have lots more music to go.

So yeah, it's been lots of fun so far.

Orange

Duncan had his first karate session as an orange belt today. He got promoted to orange belt a couple weeks ago after testing. It was this month a year ago that Duncan started karate. I wouldn't mind finding him a judo dojo eventually, but that would be up to him. The good thing about karate though, is it's pretty cheap. Anna wants him to eventually get into a team sport... rugby? (I wish), but probably soccer or baseball. Anna also wants to get him started with piano lessons soon. We have a piano, so I guess someone better learn how to play it.

Enough rambling... here's Duncan's picture...

Friday Flashback 1.16.09

Today's Flashback photo was randomly selected from a pile of old photos.

It looks like Kim has done something or said something that caused the reaction you see the rest of us giving. Anna appears to have been the most affected.

I'm guessing Keith was on his mission since he's not in the picture. I believe we were still living in Altadena when this was taken. Kim and Kelly might have still been in High School? I'm not sure. But look at how short Kristi's dreads are! And it's sure been a long time since Kevin had that long goatee (sp?). If anyone in the picture has a better time/date remembrance, leave it in the comments section.

Bonus Flashback photo...

Anna scanned this picture of me yesterday to show to a student and class period. She says she has a student that looks EXACTLY like I do from this picture... except the student is African American!

I'm going to venture a guess that there's one obvious thing that sets us apart... and one less obvious feature that we do have in common. *wink*

Ok, all kidding aside...

I remember having this picture taken of me. I'm pretty sure I asked my mom to take it. She was dropping me off somewhere, and I think I was particularly happy with my hair that day, so I wanted a picture. This is pre-mission. I got the Jane's shirt from a bootlegger in the parking lot after a Jane's Addiction concert. I believe Nine Inch Nails opened up for Jane's Addiction that night, and it was at the Universal Amphitheater (now called the Gibson Amphitheater). Oops, got a little off topic there.

So yeah, old pictures.

First Monopoly Game

Last Sunday the boys and Anna and I all played Monopoly together for the first time. I wish I would have thought to take a picture.

We played the Star Wars Episode 1 version. We got that game from my folks' house over the Christmas holiday. There were/are towers of board games stacked up at my folks' house, and as we were going through other old stuff, mom declared that if you bought a game that was in the towers, you were welcome to take it back. As the games were getting claimed, Duncan was very interested in the "Star Wars one". We found out it was a game uncle Keith (in reference to Duncan) bought many years ago. Duncan asked if he could have it, and Keith said yes. So, thank you Keith.

So that's how we became the owners.

On Sunday's, we do our best to keep the Wii turned off, and instead, redirect the kids to board games. Usually they select games they can play on their own, but Duncan and Liam chose "Monpoly". I didn't have any reason not to play, so I said yes, I would play. Then they asked mom, and she said, yes too. We explained that it was a very long game, so we would only play for 45 minutes to an hour, and began...

...about 3 hours later, Anna was bankrupt, which ended the game; Liam was declared the winner; and we needed to feed the kids before rushing them through their bedtime routine.

Anna and Liam had formed an alliance, as did Duncan and I. Liam ended up getting both of the last two properties, and Anna helped him put some houses on them. Duncan and I were doing a pretty good job of avoiding landing on them (lucky rolls), and Anna pretty much landed on them regularly which ultimately put her under.

We had a fun time playing. It was definitely pushing the boundaries of attention for the boys near the end, but they stayed in it for the most part. It was also good for them to use their math in collecting and paying rent and stuff. I'm sure we'll be playing again sometime soon.

Wish I had some pictures. Next time!

Monday Music 1.12.09

Today's music is inspired by the kids watching Wall-E just about everyday since they opened it for Christmas.

Jennan's getting to where she can sing all the words to the chorus of the ending song by Peter Gabriel.

Here it is...

The song is pretty ok, I like it; But I really like when Jennan sings along.

That's it for this week.

Friday Flashback 1.9.09

Today's photo is from December 1997. (It's written on the back)
The location is the Barney's home in El Monte.
It was Kyle's mission farewell open house.
Pictured is Kyle, Scotty, Sara, and Anna... just over 11 years ago!
Crazy.
How did I choose this as my flashback photo? Well, over the Christmas holiday at the Foutz compound, a few of us went through some of the clutter at my folks' house. I was separating the piles and piles of pictures into stacks for each sibling to take home. I have no idea how many I took home. I'm guessing it's close to 200.
Anyhow, I just picked a random picture from that stack I took home.
Pretty scientific of me, huh?
Hi all.

If you know Colleen (Kinnick) Clemens, her dad passed away this week.

There are some details on her blog here.

No fun.

Went To Disneyland

We went to Disneyland last night. Our passes are no longer blocked out from the holidays. But they're back to their off-season operating schedule, which means Ca. Adv. closes at 6pm, and D-land at 8pm. So even though it's usually only a couple hours that we get to be there, it's still fun.

Anna asked Duncan what rides we should go on, and he said he wanted to go to Toon Town. Liam thought that was a good idea too, so we took the long walk to the far end of the park to spend some time in Toon Town. We went on the roller coaster, played in Goofy's play area, and went on the Roger Rabbit ride. We were there till about 7:30pm and then decided to go on the Buzz Lightyear ride. After the walk there, the wait in line, and the ride, it was already pretty much 8pm, so we headed back to the car.

The kids had a great time because they were the ones deciding where we went, and that was fine by us.

Oh and by the way, it was also our first time going to Disneyland with our new smaller van, and everything fit just fine! The double stroller can fit standing up in the back (it does push a tiny bit against the back seat, but only barely), but I laid it down. We also had our fleece blankets, pajamas, and jackets back there too. And because we're a little more compact in there, Anna can pass items directly to the back with both hers and the boys' reach, which is really nice. We recently clocked the gas mileage at about 18 miles per gallon, and that was with mountain driving. But I guess with all the convenience that a mini van provides, it's not for everyone... right Sara? Thanks again.

But even with all of that... there's one more story...

We get to the Disneyland parking lot, we're unloading the kids, and loading the stroller. Anna helps the kids get their sweatshirts on, and suddenly looks at me worried... "Did you grab my sweatshirt?" she says, slight panic in her tone. I reminded her that she was wearing hers when she got home, so I couldn't have packed it. "I'm pretty sure I forgot it. I'll just wrap a blanket around me." I tell her she can wear mine. I'll be fine. She is glad I am letting her wear it, and says she's sorry. We spend our time at Disneyland. I am handling the cold just fine, but make no mistake, it's still cold. We're back at the van, we're getting the kids ready for the drive home, and I'm unloading the stroller. On the floor in front of the passenger side front seat is a black wad... looks suspiciously like a wadded up sweatshirt. I pick it up... and lo and behold, it's Anna's sweatshirt. I show it to Anna. She smiles an "uh-oh" look. "Where was it?" I explain that it was right at her feet the whole drive there, she would have been close enough to touch it when she was telling me she thought she forgot it, etc. All I could do was shake my head as she laughingly tells me she's sorry.

Oh yeah, well...

Hey look everybody, it's a picture of Anna...

Oh yes... I just did that.

Snow Day

Last week, on the 30th of Dec., we went up to the McAlister family cabin, in Wrightwood, for a snow day. All those rainy days we had around Christmas were the same days it was snowing in the mountains. But by the 30th, the roads were dry and the snow was still thick.

The cabin is just around the corner from the Mountain High ski resort, so traffic getting in was really thick. But there's nothing you can do but be patient. The kids had a tougher time being patient when they can see snow, but we're not stopping to play in it.

Once we got to the cabin, (I think it was about 11am) there were some people playing in the snow in the entry way to the driveway. Not that we can drive on the drive way, it's covered in snow, but it made it a little awkward.

Anna's dad came out to meet us at the street with a toboggan to pull the kids on, over to the cabin. It's about a 40 yard walk. The trick was to walk in the previously made holes from someone else's steps, so you didn't sink in the 12 or so inches you would have otherwise with each step.

Once inside the cabin, Anna's mom was setting all the kids up with snow gear for playing in the snow. Snow bib pants, jackets, gloves, boots and even hats if they needed them. They have a bunch of all that stuff for snow days at the cabin for the grandkids. And we are glad they do.

Once the kids were set up to play in the snow, they were out the door. Grandpa showed them where they could slide down, and that's pretty much what they did for hours. They have a two person snow boogie-board that's super light, and it became Liam's favorite. He was on that thing for most of the day. Eventually everyone had a turn or two inside, for lunch, or the bathroom, or warm up, etc., but Liam did those things the least; to the amazement of everyone. We also worked on a snow fort, threw snow balls at each other, built snowmen, and all that other fun snow stuff.

Anna's parents had to head back to Pasadena for the evening, so they left before we did. At about 4:30-ish we made the boys come in the cabin. We ate some of the dinner we brought, watched Wall-E, and warmed by the fire, before loading up to go home. I think we left at around 7:30pm.

It was a really fun day. I think we ended up taking over 60 pictures that day, maxing out all of our memory chips. Speaking of pictures, here are some from that day...

Good times.

Christmas Morning Pics

This Christmas we had a pretty busy family schedule from both sides, so Anna and I wrapped all the presents earlier than years previous. That meant that Christmas Eve night, we actually got to bed at a pretty decent time. That made getting up at 7am a lot easier.

Here's what it looked like after Santa visited us.

After all the "Holy Cow!"s, the kids sat for a quick picture before we tore into our presents.

This was the first year we took the kids shopping for presents for their siblings. We took them shopping at places like the Dollar Tree, 99 cent store, etc. We did our best to explain that Christmas was about giving to others more than it was about what we get from others. The kids were very receptive to that idea, and had fun choosing what they thought their brother or sister would really like. In fact, during our McAlister Christmas adult white elephant gift exchange, there was a mention of "grabbing" a present, and Liam was there and said, "Christmas is about giving, not grabbing!" He was very serious when he said it too. It got a chuckle out of all who heard it.

Anyway, back to our Christmas morning; Everyone took turns opening presents, and we all watched as they were opened. Christmas morning present opening expressions are the BEST! Everything the kids opened was met with wide eyes, and entusiasm. This year there were quite a few more "for everyone" presents than the past, and the kids did a great job making sure everyone got a tear on the wrapping paper before it was completely torn off.

Here are some of the aftermath pictures...

We didn't rush through our present opening. I think we opened everything in a little under two hours. That left us time to get dressed and ready to take family pictures that morning in El Monte without being horribly late.
We spent the rest of the day in El Monte at the Foutz compound. Apparently we didn't take any pictures, though I know there were pictures being taken. I'll have to track those down from those people. (Kristi)
We had a wonderful Christmas. It was extended by having McAlister-Christmas Christmas Eve, then extended Foutz family that night. Then Christmas morning at our house, then the Foutz compound the rest of that day, and Friday. Then some family at our house Saturday evening, and then another evening at the compound Sunday.
It was very fun to have my whole family around and in from New Mexico, Arizona x 2, and Utah.

On Pause

Today as I continued to convert my CDs to mp3 format and uploading them to my itunes library, I got a computer prompt that I was low on memory space. So now I'm looking into getting an external hard drive to hold all the music/media files.

Or,

my computer actually has a second hard drive with about 58 available GB of space, so I might be able to move my files over there. But there's a chance I could get pretty close to maxing that out as well. In which case, I would then need to move to an external HD. So I'm thinking I might as well just get an external HD.

My iPod is 120GB size.

I wish I could just upload the music onto the iPod directly without having to use a managing program, then I wouldn't need anything extra, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way. If you know differently, please let me know.

btw, as it stands, I'm up to a little over 1000 songs uploaded.

Cool stuff.

Duncan's Birthday Stuff

Duncan's birthday party was Dec. 20th at a park in San Bernardino. It is a nice park with plenty of room to play.

Duncan's birthday cake was actually 4 cakes (all wheat and dairy free), in the shape of various balls. Anna did a great job with them as usual. Duncan actually wrote his own name on the bowling ball cake.

We held the party in the afternoon, but this day was particularly chilly. It felt like the first really cold day of December. We were not prepared for the cold weather, so none of our kids had jackets. They didn't seem to mind while they played on the playground, but once we were doing cake and presents, they got a little cold. Luckily, others that came to the party were better prepared for the weather, and shared some extra jackets.

Cake and presents time. We had ice cream too, but it was too cold for anyone to enjoy it.

Duncan had a really fun time at the park with those that came to his party.
Then on Duncan's actual birthday, the 22nd, we went to Red Robin for his birthday dinner. Jason and Kristi were driving into So. Cal. that afternoon from AZ, so they joined us. Red Robin is the kids' favorite restaurant.

One of the nice things about Red Robin, is their bottomless fries. So after the kids have picked at their grilled chicken or hamburger patties, they'll usually eat a bunch of fries. The kids meals also come with a plastic cup you can take home, so the kids like that too.
Duncan was not shy about telling our server that it was his birthday, and because we mentioned he had a dairy allergy, they gave him a nerf type football while they sang their birthday song to him. We were not expecting anything other than the singing, so that was very cool.

At home we cut into the bowling ball cake after a little happy birthday singing and candle blowing. Duncan was insistent on making a wish first though.

It was a fun birthday weekend for Duncan. Now that he's 7, we're looking forward to the fun of Duncan preparing to be baptised next December/January; And so is he.
