Liam turns 8 and gets dunked!

Liam had a birthday on the 26th and turned a whopping 8 years old! A lot of things happen when you turn 8. Here are some pictures of our fun...

Liam got a Pokeball cake for his birthday. Baked by mom, and decorated by dad.

Let's open some presents!

Liam chose to go to Red Robin for his birthday dinner. Guess we forgot the camera, or forgot to use it. I also forgot to take a picture last Wed. of Duncan and Liam both with their cub scout uniforms on for Liam's first time going to his den meeting.

Then yesterday, Sunday, May 1st, Liam got baptised! Here he is in his new suit just before we left to go to the church.

Dad and Liam on this special day.

Dad and Liam all dressed in white and ready for the program and baptism.

Afterward, we had some dinner at the church building. The kids got to draw on the paper at the kids' table.

More of the people that came to the baptism and stayed to eat.

Liam got a few gifts at the baptism. One of them was a "money ball"! Here's Liam under the pile of steamer paper left after unwinding it all to get the money.

A big thank you to all that came and helped with the baptismal program, the food, and the well-wishes. We are so thankful for you all! (We're also thankful for those that wanted to be here but weren't able to come.)

Birthday dinner

We went to Red Robin for Tegan's birthday dinner. We always a good time there.

It's a little hard to tell, but Jennan and Tegan both have little tiara things in their hair. Actually you can't see Tegan's at all. Cutie faces!

Tegan with her birthday sundae, and Duncan very interested in helping her eat it.

Group shot!

I'd be really happy too, if I had just eaten a sundae like that.

Gotta make sure you don't waste any...

One funny thing about this trip to Red Robin, is Anna and I both chose non-burger entrees. Anna had the chicken and pasta with pesto, I had the fish and chips. Anna really liked hers. It was very basily. The fish and chips were OK, but they were pretty much what you would get anywhere. We also shared a bottom-less root beer float... SOOO good!

Birthday Fun

Last Saturday there were some birthdays celebrated- Hunter's, Ethan's and Tegan's!

There was a TON of food! Super nachos, posole, fruit salad, drinks, 2 cakes and cupcakes, ice cream, and candy!

A big thank you to Kevin and Dawn for letting us squeeze Tegan into the birthday mix at the last minute, and to Kim and Luis for all their hard work in cooking food and cleaning the side yard.

Here are a bunch of pictures from the festivities...

Skyler being a good big cousin, and pushing Tegan in the car.

Presents!

Great reaction for the new Tinkerbell shirt.

Instant love for the manatee.

Great shot of Tegan with her birthday cupcake of Milli from Team Umizoomi. (The girls love that show.)

Jennan's post-cupcake face! Silly girl!

Hunter got a new DS XL and some new DS games. Concentration is excruciating.

Time for some pinata action! There were two of them. Here's Tegan unloading on the ninja turtle.

A great shot of Duncan unleashing his pinata-hitting fury on the obliterated turtle.

Duncan got some alone time with Hunter's new DS.

Then it was time for the huge slide! Here's Anna and Tegan at the top, ready to slide down. Tegan needed help in the beginning, to get to the top, but after a while, she was getting up mostly by herself.

Anna and Jennan ready to go.

We had a great time. Great food, and sweets! Lots of time to visit. Fun things to do. It was all good!

Liam's Birthday Party

Liam had a birthday party last Saturday. I can't believe I forgot to post up some pictures this week of that fun party. Better late than never.

Here's Liam's cake. He said he wanted a "wiggler" cake. Turns out a "wiggler" is a character in some of the Mario video games. Wigglers are basically caterpillars. Here's what Anna came up with.

It was kind of windy so Liam very quickly blew out one candle, and we called it good.

There's the birthday boy... what a handsome fellow.

After cake and ice cream, it was present opening time! Here's one of many pictures of Liam opening his presents. (those are Mario pajamas)

Gotta have a pinata!

Skittles and Starbursts for everyone!

Here's a good shot of Tegan sitting and enjoying some pinata candy.

Liam eating some candy, and looking quite content.

We held this party at the same park that we had Duncan's party at, back in Dec. It's a great little place. Thanks mom and dad for making the drive out.
It was pretty windy, so we busted out the kites we had. Those little kites took a beating in that strong wind. They needed heavier tails to keep from flying all over the place. Our friends brought a huge kite that they have, and it got tossed to-and-fro as well. But still fun.
Good times.

Sara's Birthday Today

It's Sara's birthday today! To celebrate, I found some random pictures of her to put up on the blog...

Aahh... birthday spanks... gotta love 'em!

Feeding the geese and ducks... so they don't eat them!

Waiting for the boy for a school dance (was it prom?).

Scotty not too happy to be caught with a groupie.

I really like this picture.

Oh, but here's the best part! (muahahaha *evil laugh*)

Good times! Happy Birthday Sara, hope you have a great day.

Happy Birthday to Liam!!!!!!!

Liam is 7 years old today!

I usually like to put pictures in order from oldest to newest, but somehow I got it backwards today. Still some fun pictures though...

Here's Liam watching a "helicopter" seed at the "Plant Lab" at the Huntington Library. We were there Saturday with Grandma McAlister and Sara and her kids. Fun day.

Chilling out, playing DS one fine afternoon.

A great candid shot of Liam at a hike we did last November.

Liam turning 4 years old!

Happy Birthday to our awesome and sweet boy Liam!

Friday flashback and Birthday post 04.23.10

With mom's birthday tomorrow, I figured I'd put up some flashback pictures with her in them for today's flashback post.

Two birds with one stone, as they say...

Here's mom holding a newborn Duncan. I think that makes this picture the first picture of mom as a Grandmother.

Here is mom with all her kids + Anna and the sunset, in Hawaii!

Old school family portrait. The back says, "Dec. 1976". Dad- 29, mom- 25, me- 4, Kristi- 2, Kevin- 6 weeks. In this picture, I'm Jennan's age now, and Kristi is Tegan's age now. Kristi's got a lot more hair than Tegan does. I think dad still has that tie.

Some fun photo's there. Hope you have a great birthday mom! Love you!

Happy Birthday Sweet'ums...

I was pretty busy with tying up loose ends today for Anna's birthday, and I almost forgot to do a birthday post... almost.

As you can see, Anna's reclaimed the self proclaimed throne as, "Queen of the hula-hoop". Huzzah!

Appropriately, Anna got a new hula-hoop, some shirts, a DVD, some candy, but mostly a painting from the kids. I had the kids each paint an area of a canvas, and then had them put there hand print on it in a different color. I think it came out rather well. The kids were very happy to make it for her. Fun day.

friday flashback 01.29.10 -birthday edition

It was a pretty easy decision for today's flashback photo. My dad had his birthday this week, and since I didn't have the time to put together a birthday post, I knew I'd find a good flashback photo of him for today...

On the back of the photo it says, "January 27, 1982". That was 28 years ago. I was 9 when this picture was taken. I'm pretty sure that makes dad 32 on this birthday? Mom would have been pregnant with Kim at the time.
To put that into perspective, as far as my family goes, Kyle will turn 32 this year. So Kyle is basically the same age as dad was in this picture.
Obviously this is pre-cancer surgery because dad is rocking the 'stache. Other than that, dad still looks basically the same today. The hair may be a thinner and grayer, but it's still all combed back.
Happy birthday dad. Hope you had a fun day.

Duncan had a party

Duncan's birthday party was last Saturday, and if you missed it, you missed out.

Here's Duncan with his birthday cake. It's a Mario cake, so he really liked it. Anna did a great job.

There was a pinata at the party. Anna made some small modifications, and it became a Mario style star. They beat the star till is bled candy.

I had to put this one in because the kids were wearing the star's cones as party hats. You can kind of see some of the face painting that Duncan had at hid party too. A big thank you goes to our good friend Melissa for bringing her face paint and doing that for the kids.

This was probably Duncan's favorite birthday present... a Mario Kart Wii tshirt. It says, " This is how I roll." It was the first thing he asked for the next morning.

It was a fun little gathering at the park for the party. Thank you, to all who came out. The kids had a great time.
